What is depression?

At some stage of your life, you experience difficulties. You may feel a  low and for lots of varied reasons life can feel exceedingly difficult to work through. This may be passing and may not necessarily be depression.  

Depression is a long-lasting low mood disorder and can affect your ability to do everyday things. It is a mental illness, which can be common but can feel differently for everyone.  

What are the symptoms of depression?

Symptoms of depression can include low mood, feeling sad and hopeless, fatigue and low energy, difficulty sleeping and feelings of low self-worth. Symptoms of depression may remain stagnant or worsen over time lasting from months to years on end.

Is Counselling an effective treatment for depression?

Counselling is an extremely effective way to treat depression. With your Therapist, you will explore your experience, your triggers and your symptoms. You Therapist will work with you to explore the underlying causes of your depression and help you reduce and manage your symptoms.
