Why choose Counselling and Psychotherapy?

People engage in Counselling and Psychotherapy for a range of different reasons from mental health difficulties to personal development. No matter what your goals are, therapy is beneficial in understanding your difficulties, emotions, and behaviours, increasing your self-awareness, and improving your sense of resilience and emotional wellbeing.  if you are unhappy with your current circumstances and feel like you want something to change, Therapy is an excellent tool for effecting growth and change.

Counselling and Psychotherapy will provide you with a safe and confidential space to explore any issues you are facing with an experienced Therapist. Your Therapist will support you and work with you towards achieving your goals.

All our therapists have extensive clinical experience working with a wide range of issues.

The treatment provided from our Therapists will be specifically tailored to you.

How do Counselling and Psychotherapy Work?

Counselling or Psychotherapy is a form of Talk Therapy which involves you exploring your difficulties with an impartial, non-judgemental Therapist.

Through exploration and discussion your Therapist can help you cope with distressing feelings and emotions, help you to gain a greater self-awareness and change behavioural patterns which may contribute to your symptoms.

The result of a good therapeutic relationship will be evident in your own personal growth, in a deeper understanding of yourself and in the more effective ways you tackle problems.

  • How long will I be in Therapy?

There is no set time frame for Therapy. Each person is different, and each problem is unique. The length of time that someone is in therapy will very much depend on the presenting issues. Therapy may be brief when focusing on an immediate problem and it can sometimes be extended when working with deeper issues.

How long does a session last and often does Therapy take place?

Sessions are 50 minutes long and Therapy is most effective when it takes place on a weekly basis.

Is there an option to do online therapy?

Absolutely. Online therapy is much the same as in person therapy, but it takes place on an online platform such as zoom.

    How does online therapy work?

Your therapist will set up a phone/online counselling appointment for a pre-agreed time. In the case of a video-call, this will usually involve the therapist emailing an invitation link to you that you then click on to “join meeting”. Once the counselling session starts everything will be much the same as a regular in person session.
