What is Self-Doubt ?
Self-doubt is sometimes thought of as being similar to low self-esteem in that it may be characterised by not feeling good about yourself or not feeling confident. However, more specifically it describes doubting yourself or doubting certain aspects of yourself. A situation or experience may trigger this doubt. Self-doubt can hold you back in different aspects of your life – from social interactions to careers to relationships.
Can counselling help with Self-Doubt?
If you find that self-doubt is impacting negatively on your daily life, ability to function or perhaps even your performance in work or studies, it may be helpful for you to speak to a Counsellor or Psychotherapist. Your therapist can help you to understand where this doubt may have originated and you can work on ways of managing and overcoming the negative affects that it has on your life.
